Five (5) original compositions will capture one of the most grueling spiritual fights of my life to date. I fought so hard to keep it together. But my life (as I knew it) had to die a grotesque death so that I could be reborn in a more luxurious way.
The cover art is a hat tip to one of my favorite artists, Kanye West. I empathize with his angst. I understand his only child syndrome. I lament in our failed attempts to be understood. Antics aside, he is a tormented artist who is a threat to demons and a problem child to cherubs. In the past two years, I’ve seen the beautiful, dark and twisted…but it was far from fantasy.
This EP is the musical interpretation of the chrysalis phase of my world. Inside these words, melodies and chords is where I stood in the face of imminent destruction to mediocrity - so that I could emerge in excellence. It features works with my longtime collaborators The Big La, Obsidian Blue and Mr. Fresh.
I’ve always been called a renaissance man. Finally my art will imitate my life.
This week, Fave x Harlem welcome writer/MC/producer/author Hassahn Phenomenon to The Next Episode. The Chicago native is a true renaissance man, with an internet radio show, a book in stores now, and a documentary called “Demos” ready for release.
He also chats it up about his love of his hometown sports teams, how he balances a busy schedule, and his affinity for Michael Jackson.
All that, plus a plea to “Hello, Cupid,” why sequels are kinda stupid, and a showcase song that you’re sure to “Find” um, phenomenal.
